Open Well-Tempered Clavier: Bösendorfer Factory

The Open Well-Tempered Clavier Kickstarter campaign is just over a week old, and the first leg of the tour is coming to a close.  Tomorrow, Kimiko Ishizaka will perform the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I in its entirety at the Bösendorfer Factory in Weiner-Neustadt Austria.

In addition to performing the Well-Tempered Clavier, Kimiko will be auditioning the three best candidate Bösendorfers for the recording to take place at Teldex Studio in Berlin later this year. Tune in tomorrow at 8:30 AM EST to catch the performance and watch Kimiko discuss the merits of each piano here:

The Open Well-Tempered Clavier project seeks to record the highest definition recording possible of the Well-Tempered Clavier and put it into the public domain alongside open source software for those interested in studying the scores. PARMA pledges to release the project through Navona Records for those who want a physical copy.  The team has almost reached their goal of $30,000 with just over $1000 to go. Visit the campaign page to learn more.

The second leg of the tour picks up October 12th in Germnay, and will make its way over to the US by the end of the month.
