Please join us in welcoming Connecticut composer Scott Perkins to the PARMA family! We will be working with Scott on his debut release, The Stolen Child: Choral Music by Scott Perkins, later this year.
As a composer, Scott’s work includes art songs, opera, musical theatre, choral and chamber music, electroacoustic works, and music for film and church. He has been commissioned by organizations ranging from the Washington National Opera to the American Guild of Organists, and his work has been performed throughout North America and Europe. His music has been called “dramatic and colorful” (Washington Post), and ”perfectly orchestrated and haunting“ (Washington Times).
As a performer, Scott has concertized as a tenor throughout the United States, England, Mexico, Scotland, and Norway. He has performed with professional ensembles as both a vocalist and a conductor.
Scott will be working with Michigan based choral group Audivi to record three large choral works for The Stolen Child: Choral Music by Scott Perkins. The program will include A Word Out of the Sea, which won a BMI Student Composer Award, alongside the album’s title track, The Stolen Child, and a new work, The World of Dream.
Scott is currently running a GoFundMe campaign to help offset some of the financial burden of this project. You can contribute and learn more about Scott, Audivi, and The Stolen Child at the following link and within the video below: www.gofundme.com/2xz2zmt5
