PARMA is pleased to announce the addition of composer L Peter Deutsch to our artist lineup. We’re currently in the works on a compilation album of music for the holiday season which will include Deutsch’s choral renditions of “A Winter’s Rime,” “Hodie Christus Natus Est,” and “The Holly and the Ivy.”
Born in nearby Boston, MA, Deutsch began working with computers in the early 1960s, receiving a PhD in computer science from USC Berkely in 1973. His education wasn’t over, and in 1986 he began to shift his focus to composing music. After auditing undergraduate music courses, he went back to school and graduated in 2011 with a Master of Arts degree from the music program at California State University. Since 2011, Deutsch has had an increasing number of compositions performed publicly as he has made a thorough transition from computer engineer to professional composer.
In March, Peter attended a PARMA-produced recording session in Ohio with the Stanbery singers, where we recorded his music for the upcoming holiday compilation album. You can see a couple photos from these sessions below:
