Composer, arranger, producer, and guitarist Rodrigo Cotelo joins the PARMA Recordings family with the introduction of his international music collective, #Bloomerangs.

The soon-to-be-titled release features performances by 22 international artists from Uruguay, Argentina, Spain and the United States.

Earlier this week, Rodrigo joined us at our office to meet the team and begin mastering his album:

The album spans a variety of genres, from world music to fusion, jazz, bluegrass, R&B, blues, and bossa. The program will also contain the composition “Young Dads”, which was selected as a semifinalist in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition in jazz, selected by jurors Pat Metheny, Danilo Perez and Wayne Shorter.

Joining Rodrigo on the album is trumpeter and Navona Records artist Daniel Zehringer, who released his own debut, JOURNEYMAN’S SONGS, on Navona Records earlier this year. Other artists featured on the album are Marco Messina, bass; Chris Parker, trombone & cymbals; Tato Bolognini, drums; and Ramiro Flores, saxophones.

In Rodrigo’s own words:

“#Bloomerangs is an international music collective dedicated to exploring musical genres from all around the world.  The idea is to integrate different cultures and sounds as a vehicle to a common universal human expression through music.”

The #Bloomerangs album will be released on Big Round Records in May 2017. To learn more about Rodrigo and hear more of his music in the meantime, you can visit: www.rodrigocotelo.com.

Welcome, Rodrigo and #Bloomerangs!
