Congratulations to our PARMA artists Sang-Hie Lee and Stephen Yip who have just won the Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards for PARMA releases, ARS NOSTRA: BUT NOW THE NIGHT and The Luminous Mystery on TURBULENT SKY.

The Global Music Awards is “music’s golden seal of approval.” For the Silver Medal finalists, only fifteen percent of entries are chosen. We are more than excited to see that two PARMA artists have earned this accomplishment!

ARS NOSTRA: BUT NOW THE NIGHT was released on Ravello Recording in October of this year and has received reviews from platforms such as Texturasaying, “Don’t be surprised if your thoughts occasionally wander to Rachmaninoff, Faure, and Debussy as its fifteen minutes unfold.”

This debut album of the “super piano” with collaborating artist, Martha Thomas, was performed and recorded live at the University of Florida Concert Hall in Tampa. Ars Nostra was founded by Sang-Hie Lee and is an artistic concept that promotes new music by colleagues and contemporaries. Considering the album just won a silver medal, we’d say the foundation is a success.

You can purchase ARS NOSTRA: BUT NOW THE NIGHT on Amazon and iTunes.

TURBULENT SKY was released on Navona Records in November of 2015,  a compilation album featuring Stephen Yip, along with Fred Broer and William Coble. Yip was awarded the Silver Medal for The Luminous Mystery, which was performed by the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.

The album has been reviewed by media outlets such as  American Record Guide and Gapplegate. Gapplegate, which is hosted by Grego Applegate Edwards, said “I found [The Luminous Mystery] all most exhilarating. Highly recommended.” Yip has received several composition prizes, including the Salvatore Martirano Memorial Composition Award and the Taiwan Music Center International Composition Prize.

You can purchase TURBULENT SKY on Amazon and iTunes.

Congratulations again to our two PARMA artists on their Silver Medals! We are proud to be working with such talented artists.
